What Are These Modalities?
I use a number of modalities in my work with clients, and use them as needed. To make things simpler, I often use the word coaching as an umbrella term.
In the work we custom-design your coaching process based on who you are, what you want to create, and how you would like to go about creating it. I help you get clear about the options you have and guide the sessions in the most powerful way possible.
There is no cookie-cutter method to get you to where you want to go—only the most effective, guided by your agenda and my expertise. It is all about creating a powerful support system for the results you want.

Coaching is an exploration that challenges you to recognize where you are now, find out what you really want out of your life and career, identify what’s been getting in your way, and co-create powerful new ways to make it happen.
Coaching it is not advice, nor is it about someone telling you what you 'should' or ‘shouldn’t’ do. It is an equal partnership, honoring your instincts, wisdom, and self-knowledge as paramount, while at the same time introducing elements that can interrupt your old cycles and help you break free from old patterns.
During the coaching process I will help you to expand an awareness of yourself and find new clarity and a deeper understanding of what has been stopping you getting where you want to go. I then partner with you to create powerful new ideas, guiding you through solid, do-able planning and goal setting, with the resources—internally and externally—that will make your vision come to life.
How would you know if a coach is qualified? The International Coach Federation (ICF) has been working diligently to regulate and raise the standards of coaching worldwide. Unfortunately, at this time only a small percentage of people advertising themselves as a coach have adequate training and credentials. Many coach training schools are not accredited by ICF and they go by their own standards, often giving certificates to students who have done very few hours of required education and little or no in-person experience.
To ensure a certain level of standard in any coach you hire, we suggest choosing only ICF certified coaches. You will recognize the credentials by ACC, PCC or MCC. Please do your due diligence and read about ICF at http://www.coachfederation.org.
I am an ICF Master Certified Coach (MCC) and have completed coach trainings at Hypnotherapy Clearing House, Gestalt OSD, and EGL Executive Coach Training Program.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a powerful and rapidly evolving study of human potential, most specifically via the areas of language, thought, belief and behavior.
The word neuro refers to our brains and how it related to our five senses. Linguistic comes from how we structure our language. As words are a model for our experiences, they can tell us how we have been thinking as well as change our experiences as we change how we language. Programming refers to the unconscious patterns, that we can then identify, articulate and shift into becoming more effective.
The fast, simple tools of NLP tap into our ability to change our beliefs, our thinking, our behaviors and therefore our experiences instantly. It’s a technology that is astounding in it’s ability to greatly enhance the positive in our lives.
Hypnotherapy has been practiced throughout human history in many guises and cultures. In the Western World the most recent incarnation of hypnosis is greatly influenced by the work of Milton Erickson, an American psychiatrist and psychologist who specialized in family therapy in the 1950’s.
Hypnotherapy is used to create subconscious change in a patient in the form of new responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviors or feelings. You are invited to relax your body and mental activity through guided visualization. This is a pleasant, safe process that allows you to tap into your subconscious mind, where many of your deepest patterns, beliefs and unresolved issues reside.
While in the hypnotic state you will be fully aware of the reality around you, my voice, and your own voice as we communicate. Unlike stage hypnosis (which is often ‘rigged’) this therapeutic style of hypnosis means you are always in the driver's seat and cannot be forced to do or say anything you would not otherwise. It's a creative act that is all about the expansion of your wellbeing, creating results that may not be possible otherwise.
Unlike coaching, consulting is the business of giving expert advice. An expert is a person who has a comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of or skill in a particular area.
My expertise is in the area of personal development, with specific focus on intra-personal (internal) and inter-personal (with others) integration. Integration is the foundation for harmony, resourcefulness and greater happiness.
I have spent the last 40 years engaged in the study of psychology, philosophy, spirituality, and alternative forms of healing. During that time I have been on a dedicated path toward my own personal and professional development and, in turn, have been able to support and guide many other people on their journey as well. In my consulting I share resources, information about my research, as well as what has worked for others.
This powerful and dynamic experience is one of the most sensible, accessible, and authentic plans available for recovery from loss. I work in the Grief Recovery Institute’s 7-week one-on-one format, an experiential, action-based private program with homework assignments.
You will look at your old beliefs about dealing with loss, what losses have affected your life, and take new actions that will lead you to completion of the pain attached to those losses. As a result, you will find that you are able to discover and complete what was left emotionally unfinished due to a death, a divorce, or any other major loss.
I was trained and certified at the Grief Recovery Institute® in 2002 by founder Russell Freidman and have lead a number of Grief Recovery Programs, as well as working the process one-on-one with clients.
EFT (The Emotional Freedom Technique) is a type of Energy Psychology based on impressive new discoveries involving the body's subtle energies. The existing theory as to why energy psychology works so well is that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system.
EFT has been clinically effective (properly applied, over 80% achieve either noticeable improvement or complete cessation of the problem) for trauma, abuse, stress, anxiety, fears, phobias, depression, grief, addictive cravings, relationship issues and hundreds of physical symptoms including headaches, body pains, immune deficiency, diseases, skin disorders and breathing difficulties.
EFT is an emotional form of acupuncture—except that we don't use needles. Instead, I guide you to tap with your fingertips to stimulate certain meridian points while you are ‘tuned in’ to an issue. Results with EFT often go far beyond those of conventional methods and often works where nothing else will. I have been amazed at how quickly some of my client’s long-term issues have resolved themselves using this technique.
